Suzuki will never do anything about a trip meter or the leaky oil seal. I beleive this is because the profit margin on the Savage is so low that to re-tool or spend engineering hours on a fix would eat too big a hole in the profit. I personally like the Savage for it's simplicity, lightweigt manueverability and easy maintenance. But let's face it, the Savage is Suzuki's smallest entry level cruiser and they are not about to revamp it. They've been making their small but long-term profit for over 15yrs on this bike and only made one major modification (5 speed tranny). As far as comfort is concerned I personally found it ok. I used to sit in the saddle for about and hour and 10 minutes each day, twice a day monday through friday commuting to work. I also have the air cushion pad. Works great.
